Shelagh Levett   

Biography - Shelagh has worked in libraries for nearly 30 years. Her early career was spent in childrens and schools work in rural counties and inner cities. She has been in Bournemouth for 9 years and as well as libraries she has responsibility for arts, museums and adult learning.

Abstract - Improving the Cultural Offer to young people: the Bournemouth and Poole Cultural Hub

The Bournemouth and Poole Cultural Hub, one of 3 pilots being funded by the DCMS, is nearing the end of its second year. By working in partnership with schools and other cultural organisations in the area, culture is being given a prominance in the curriculum as never before. The presentation will highlight how these partnerships have developed, how a cultural offer is being defined and how we can make it sustainable by embedding into cultural organisations' strategies and the curriculum.
