Abstract
- Managing
New Technologies: IT Governance
New
technology is continually changing library operations, but are we
managing it properly? IT governance is about putting structure around
the management of technology and its strategic alignment with business
goals. This workshop will offer a framework for exploring IT governance
questions in library and information services. It will discuss issues
such as the emergence of new roles, the allocation of managerial
responsibilities and the management of organisational relationships.
Abstract
- Value and Impact
of the Leading Modern Public Libraries programme: strategic and
operational perspectives
Leading
Modern Public Libraries was a large-scale multi-layered national
programme designed to develop a new generation of library leaders
to deliver the vision of Framework for the Future. Programme participants
representing the three levels of staff involved will reflect on
its effectiveness and talk about the difference it has made in practice.
The independent evaluators will also offer their verdict on the
programme.
