Biography
- I have been working in the 'inclusion' area of libraries for nine
years, after working in a wide variety of public libraries with
Staffordshire and Cheshire. My current post includes provision for
people with sensory disabilities, those with basic skills needs
and people from ethnic minorities as well as housebound readers.
Abstract
- Round the
Houses: Cheshire's Home Library Service
While
the 2006 Home Delivery Survey confirmed many assumptions about the
needs of housebound library users in Cheshire, some surprising suggestions
for future directions also emerged. These are developing into three
exciting new ways of enhancing service provision: increased advertising,
newsletter production and oral history.
