Jean
Newman
Biography
- Jean Newman is Librarian with the Regional
Public Health Group at the Government Office for the South West
in Bristol. She has worked in Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea
and with the British Council, Mauritius. Jean became involved
with Partnerships in Health Information in 2006 and is UK Co-ordinator
for the Kenya Partnership on behalf of the South West Strategic
Health Authority.
Abstract

literacy and international collaboration work with Partnerships
in Health Information (Phi)
Librarians
and knowledge managers in many developing countries do not have
sufficient opportunities to develop their professional skills and
so inform health policy makers, health practitioners and consumers
in ways which are timely and acceptable.
Phi
is working alongside health library partners to generate opportunities
for training and exchange of expertise.
