Biography - Graham Cornish has worked in copyright for 23 years, 18 of them as adviser to the BL. He now has his own consultancy called Copyright Circle. He has written several books and numerous articles and run literally hundreds of seminars on copyright. He was President of the LA in 2000.

Abstract - The ethical nature of copyright

Copyright is a hot topic in all areas of creativity. Is it moral/ethical? Who does it benefit? Struggling students, researchers in developing economies, disadvantaged groups in society all need access to what others have created. But creativity does not come cheap. So how can copyright be justified?
