Ayub
Khan
Biography
-Ayub Khan is Joint Head of Library Services (Strategy)
for Warwickshire Library and Information Service. His role is to
provide professional leadership for the library service in relation
to library policy & strategy and service development.
He
has held a number of posts in public libraries specialising in schools,
young people's and community librarianship. Ayub's most recent role
was that of Principal Project Officer (Library of Birmingham), working
on plans to create a new state of the art city centre library.
Ayub
is also a member of LISU's Advisory board and is a former member
of CILIP's Chartership Board and has served on the joint Chartership/
Accreditation regulations working group for the new framework of
Qualifications. Ayub has a strong interest in International Librarianship
and is a member of UNESCO's Culture Committee and chairs CILIP's
Equal Opportunities and Diversity panel. He is also a past President
of the Career Development Group.
Ayub
was awarded a Centenary Medal from the Library Association in 1998
for services to Librarianship and in 2003 was highly commended in
the personal achievement category of the Diversity awards by CILIP.
He achieved his Fellowship in 2004.

Abstract
- Accredited Work-based Learning - the OCN Way !
Warwickshire
Library and Information Services is the first Library Service in
the country to award its own Open College Network (OCN) accreditation
for its in-house training and development programme. This
session will explore how others can learn from Warwickshire's experience,
and make use of training materials that were developed as part of
this innovative pilot project.
