Biography
- Audrey Marshall is a Senior Lecturer in Information
and Media Studies and a Research Fellow with the Social Informatics
Research Unit (SIRU) at the University
of Brighton. She has worked in a range of library sectors and started
working at the University of Brighton in 2001, where she has been
involved in several research projects exploring the role of ICTs
in health information provision.
Abstract
- "A whole new world": the Informing Health project
This
project explored how local health information providers, including
the NHS Trust and public library services, could work with members
of local communities to support health information needs. The project
demonstrated both the possibilities and difficulties of partnership
working and of engaging with local residents in online health information
provision.
